Prime Armor 3110 Solid Colored Troweled Epoxy Floor
The fire station’s concrete floor exhibited cracking and localized damage resulting from frequent wash-down procedures and sustained heavy point loads from fire engines, service vehicles, and in-bay equipment. To restore durability and improve long-term performance, Prime Coat recommended the Prime Armor 3110 epoxy mortar system, selected for its unmatched impact resistance and high compressive strength under demanding operating conditions.
Certified installers began by shot blasting the concrete substrate to achieve the proper surface profile and ensure optimal adhesion. PC 101 EPOXYCOAT primer was then applied to promote chemical bonding and provide a secure base for the subsequent layers. Next, PC 311 TD TREADCOAT was trowel-applied over the primed surface and broadcast with silica sand to create a textured, slip-resistant finish. The system was completed with PC 341 ULTRACOAT, applied as both a grout and finish coat to enhance UV stability and provide increased chemical resistance.
The result is a highly durable epoxy mortar flooring system engineered to withstand daily heavy vehicle traffic, ongoing wash downs, and the rigorous use associated with fire rescue operations. When performance, safety, and longevity are non-negotiable, Prime Coat delivers flooring solutions built for the toughest environments.
