Overview

A new behavioral health facility was constructed with a clear objective: to incorporate finishes that are exceptionally durable, long-lasting, and capable of delivering the highest level of performance over the life of the building. To achieve the owner’s expectations for durability and longevity, Prime Coat collaborated closely with the project architect to identify and specify the most appropriate coating and flooring systems.

Throughout the facility, Prime Cast 2611 Decorative Flake Flooring was specified, and the Prime Guard 1100 High-Build Epoxy Wall System was applied on living-quarter walls. For the flooring installation, certified installers meticulously prepared the concrete substrates prior to application. The system began with a PC 101 EPOXYCOAT primer, followed by broadcasting decorative flake into the wet resin. A polyaspartic grout coat was then applied, and the system was completed with a final finish coat of PC 361 POLYCOAT, selected to deliver superior UV stability and abrasion resistance under sustained foot traffic.

In the housing unit rooms, installers prepared the block walls before applying the PC 130 GELCOAT blocking-and-filling primer. Two subsequent coats of PC 280 GLAZECOAT were then installed, resulting in a uniform, highly durable finish designed to meet the rigorous performance demands typical of behavioral health housing environments.

With purpose-driven system selection, expert installation, and performance-engineered materials, Prime Coat delivered seamless, resilient finishes tailored to the unique demands of behavioral health spaces, helping protect the facility, reduce long-term maintenance, and support a clean, safe environment for years to come.
