Scope of Work
Seamless, decorative flake broadcast epoxy floor system. Offers an aesthetic look while enabling a higher-build system with increased impact resistance and compressive strength. Top-coated with a UV- and abrasion-resistant polyaspartic for long-lasting finish properties against animal nails and other forms of degradation.
Animal Care
Prime Cast 2611
The animal hospital sought to renovate its surgical suite with a flooring solution that would deliver long-term durability while preserving an attractive, professional appearance. Animal care facilities demand flooring systems capable of supporting heavy medical equipment and resisting abrasion caused by animals’ nails, claws, and daily operational wear.
To meet these requirements, Prime Coat supplied its Prime Cast 2611 Decorative Flake Broadcast flooring system. Installation began with certified installers thoroughly preparing and cleaning the existing concrete substrate, removing all contaminants and any previous coatings to ensure optimal adhesion.
Once surface preparation was complete, PC 101 EPOXYCOAT primer was applied to promote strong chemical bonding between the substrate and subsequent system layers. The following day, PC 301 GLAZECOAT SV was installed and fully broadcast with decorative flakes selected by the hospital owner to complement the facility’s interior design.
On the final day, PC 361 POLYCOAT was applied as the polyaspartic grout and finish coat. This layer was carefully installed to retain subtle surface texture from the flake blend, providing enhanced slip resistance while delivering excellent UV stability and abrasion resistance. The result was a seamless, hygienic, and visually appealing flooring system designed to perform in a demanding surgical environment.
